Hop Ying Leatherex

Having an excellent relationship with customers and suppliers is one of the hallmarks of Hop Ying Leatherex (H.Y. Leatherex), a company specialized in marketing Brazilian leather to the world. Associated with the CICB, the organization is over 40 years old with a successful history on exporting leathers for footwear, furniture, automotive, sport and leather goods, hair on rugs, etc.

The leathers sold by H.Y. Leatherex go thru strict inspection before shipment. The suppliers they work with have high technical standards matching according to customers specifications. All sales are direct. This attention and dedication have brought significant results to the company, which has kept a close relationship with tanneries and buyers around the world for decades.

H.Y. Leatherex was founded in 1980 by Hermann Kessler, who decided to start his own company after a wide international experience at Santa Helena tannery since 1970.  With his new business, Hermann started selling leathers to old and new customers – many of which are commercial partners to this day. The businessman was one of the first to export leather from Brazil to China and the Far East. In 2002, his daughter Helena, a postgraduate in finance, after completing the tanning course at Senai, joined the business, working initially with the domestic market. In 2004, she became the export director of H.Y. Leatherex.
