It took months of work and a very dedicated look at the possibilities of leather in creating new products. The Design na Pele project brought together Brazilian tanneries with the Italian consultancy Arsutoria Vision Lab and the work of five young talented designers. The result of this great project will be known soon, during Lineapelle and Simac Tanning Tech fairs, in Milan, when the bags, shoes and accessories created by the project will be exposed for the first time. It will be between the 20th and 22nd of September, at the Brazilian Leather stand.

Design na Pele (DNP) is organized by Brazilian Leather – a project that encourages Brazilian leather exports developed by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

This was the fifth edition of Design na Pele and it was based on a journey of experimentation. First, five Brazilian tanneries developed special leathers with the Italian consultancy Arsutoria Vision Lab. The tanneries were Couroquímica, Fuga Couros, JBS Couros, Natur and Nova Kaeru. Then, a worldwide competition – the Next Gen Designers 2022 For DNP – selected five designers to create amazing products with these leathers, mentored by professors from the Arsutoria School.

The leathers and the footwear and handbag collection will be featured at the Brazilian Leather stand (hall 18 – K42-44) at the Simac Tanning Tech fair, which will take place together with Lineapelle, in Milan. All details about each designer and their respective developments will be in the space. After this exhibition, the collection will be presented at other international fairs with the participation of Brazilian Leather.
