The five Brazilian tanneries that took part in Première Vision New York left the exhibition more than pleased. After all, this year’s edition should generate twice as much sales than the initial prediction. “Our expectations revolved around US$ 2 million, but companies saw their perspectives climb up to US$4 million”, celebrates executive president of CICB (the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry), José Fernando Bello. Première Vision New Yorktook place between January 19th and 20th in the US.

BCM Indústria e Comércio de Couros Ltda (Courovale); Cortume Krumenauer S/A; Fazer Leather Company Ltda; Nova Kaeru Indústria e Comércio de Couro Ltda, and Soubach Beneficiamento em Couros Ltda were the Brazilian exhibitors present in the event.

The presence of the Brazilian leather industry at Première Vision New York had the support from Brazilian Leather, project dedicated to promote the sector in the international market and coordinated by CICB (the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry) in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

According to Bello, all companies have already shown interest in taking part in the event’s next edition. “It was a really excellent exhibition. Not only because of sales, but also because we showcased our articles to a very select public within the North-american fashion industry”, says Bello.
