Fashion, inspiration, leather, and sustainability will soon converge at a
single place: the Inspiramais - Design and Material Innovation Show - January
16th and 17th in São Paulo at the Pro Magno Events Center. Ten tanneries will
exhibit their hides that were developed for the 2019_II collections of
footwear, handbags, accessories, apparel, and interior design along with a wide
range of other materials.
Inspiramais is held by the Brazilian Association of Leather, Footwear,
and Artifacts (Assintecal), the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry
Association (Abit) and the Centre for the
Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) through their respective projects for encouraging exports - By
Brasil Components and Chemicals, Tex Brasil, and Brazilian Leather - developed
with the Brazilian Trade and Investment
Promotion Agency
(Apex-Brasil).
The hides that will be exposed have diverse origins. Small skins (such
as those from calves and goats, which are excellent for clothing), bovine hides
(preferred for shoes and handbags), and exotic skins (such as python and
alligator) will be among the highlights, along with a phenomenal color palette,
classic patterns, incredible textures, and pieces that are truly works of art.
The origin of the skins takes you on a trip through Brazil: exhibiting
tanneries are from all different regions of the country, comprising their best
in São Paulo. Quality and sustainability are these companies’ trademarks. Two
examples: Nova Kaeru, which will bring its classic pirarucu fish leather to
Inspiramais, which was recently awarded the most innovative material at the
luxury fair Première Vision in Paris; and the Rhoma Pelles tannery, a reference
in leather for apparel and one of the companies that are part of the Brazilian
Leather Sustainability Certification (CSCB).
Other unmissable attractions at Inspiramais are the Preview do Couro
showcase (hides developed to anticipate trends), lecture programming, a
presentation of an industry manufacturing plant 4.0, and business roundtables.
