Recognized as a key event in the field of sustainability within several industries, the CICB Sustainability Forum reaches its 3rd edition surrounded by great expectations in Brazil and throughout the world. The event will take place in August 21st, Thursday, at Fenac’s Exhibition Centre, in Novo Hamburgo (RS). Promoted by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Leather project, an initiative of CICB and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) for the promotion of leather exports, the Forum is sponsored by JBS Couros, Stahl and Fenac. The event also has the support from Apex-Brasil, IBTeC, ABQTIC and AICSul.

Repeating the successful formula of its 2013 edition – which was sold out weeks before the event took place –, this year the Forum will once again present an international character, bringing to Brazil some of the world’s most relevant specialists to share their knowledge, ideas, and establish a solid dialogue about the most important issues regarding sustainability. As executive president of CICB, José Fernando Bello, points out the 3rd CICB Sustainability Forum will gather experiences and examples from tanneries everyday routine, which have the objective of balancing matters such as society and the environment, besides presenting trends that guide the leather market at an international level. Bello says the event is sure to gather a diverse audience, not only from the leather industry but also from design, fashion and the academic environments, as well as professionals from other co-related industries, since the Forum’s theme permeates every sector these days.

The 3rd CICB Sustainability Forum presents, besides lectures with internationally recognized personalities, exhibitions that cover positive examples from companies and people connected to the three pillars of sustainability: society, economy and the environment. It will be a chance to see in loco the elements, attributes and dynamics of the ideas shared with the audience during all lectures.

All activities will be covered by journalists specially invited for the event, including professionals from several other countries, who come to Brazil to take part in the Forum through Projeto Imagem, promoted by the Brazilian Leather project with support from Apex-Brasil.
