Creativity and sustainability were key-words in the general conception and on the agenda of visitors at Première Vision Leather, which took place between September 13th and 15th in Paris. The event had the participation of eight Brazilian companies, who took part in the exhibition thanks to support from Brazilian Leather, project coordinated by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) for the promotion of leather exports. The Brazilian delegation expects Première Vision Leather to generate US$ 8 million.

According to Camila Koefender from Curtume Rusan, Première Vision Leather brought highly positive results in terms of new contacts and the return of clients who had previously visited her stand during the event’s February edition. Eduardo Fuga, from Fuga Couros, highlights that Première Vision Leather is a distinct event, since it’s exclusively dedicated to leather. “It makes all visitors have the very same objective”, he says. In 2016, Fuga Couros celebrates 30 years since its first participation at the event. The Brazilian Leather space also presented Preview do Couro (Leather Preview), registering a great number of visitors.

Two of the most privileged and select spaces at Première Vision – the conceptual exhibit Incube and the Trends Gallery – also highlighted leather made in Brazil.  As highlighted at Incube, Première Vision Leather points out that one of the most assertive directions for the leather sector is “differentiation”. ”Global indicators show that the creative industry grows more than others every single year”, said Gilles Lasbordes at the press conference that opened the event. In this respect, Brazilian tanneries were remarkable. They presented all the country’s creative potential with assertive collections, developed with the support from the trends book submitted by the event’s direction during its last visit to Brazil in May 2016.
