Brazilian Leather joins celebrated furniture fair in Germany

Interzum is the world's leading fair for providers and buyers of furniture and interior decoration materials. The next edition will take place May 16th through the 19th, in Cologne, Germany, and will include the participation of five Brazilian tanneries. They will show leathers with the support of the Brazilian Leather project – an initiative of the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil) to incentivize national leather participation in foreign markets.

The fair takes place every two years and has extensive programming of events linked to the furniture segment intelligence and commercial platform.  "As this sector is less sensitive to instant trends than many other leather clients, Interzum has become a necessary moment for evaluating the market and what buyers of this type of material will be looking for in the coming years", points out CICB's executive president José Fernando Bello. He emphasizes the segment's importance for the Brazilian Leather industry: nearly 20% of all leather produced in Brazil goes to the furniture market.

All together, Interzum has over 1,500 exhibiters from 60 countries confirmed and is expected to receive nearly 60 thousand visitors.
